Hi, please update to remove “natural” from the article. While these are all potential ways to improve your cardiovascular health they are not all inherently “natural.” The medications listed would require a prescription and I would HIGHLY recommend anyone talking to their doctor before taking 100mgs melatonin….

As a cardiothoracic surgeon who practiced lipid management for 20 years, your article is filled with fallacies, untruths and is simply dangerous. While I’m not attacking you personally, I think it is irresponsible for you to write what you wrote when you are clearly not qualified to do so. I spent my career doing coronary artery bypass surgeries. If you had a clear understanding of atherosclerotic CVD, there is nothing that causes regression of plaque to any appreciable extent in the coronary arteries. Even METEOR and ASTEROID show that. The best we can hold for is slowing of progression or stopping progression. I guess you have no idea that niacin is not recommended at all anymore based on very good randomized trials. You can take a look at AIM-High to start. As you know, the old adage in medicine is to do no harm so I would either take your article down or revise it to be medically accurate. When it comes to one’s health, the truth does matter.
